During the recently held District Road Safety Committee Meeting at the Coimbatore Collectorate, the issue faced by pedestrians at Trichy Road area was brought up for discussion.

This meeting was chaired by District Collector, Kranthi Kumar. The members brought to the notice of everyone in the committee that pedestrians crossing Trichy Road often meet with accidents and there is no easy way for them to cross the roads.

After going through the matter, it was ordered that proper facilities should be laid in place at every 500m of Trichy Road for smooth crossing of pedestrians, and it should be done at the earliest. Similarly, the committee announced a plan to set up a foot-overbridge near Coimbatore GH.

Accidents taking place at Pollachi Road was also discussed, and the officials from the National Highway Wing of State Highways Department assured to take measures to set up foot-overbridge at 3 places in Pollachi Road.
