The 2024 Summer Olympics is all set to begin in France this month from July 26 onwards, with majority of the events set to be held in host city Paris.

Coimbatore native Vithya Ramraj, a three-time National Champion athlete, is qualified to compete in the Women's 4x400m relay at the Summer Olympics this year. 

Vithya hails from Meenakshipuram in Palathurai. Belonging to a humble family, she raced to the top with her determination and skills. She competes in 100m and 400m hurdles and relay events, and won several laurels. She now works in the Indian Railways. On 2 October 2023 at the 2022 Asian Games, she equalled the Indian national record of 55.42s in 400m hurdles set by P. T. Usha at the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984.
