Vanavarayar Institute of Agriculture, Pollachi – a part of Nachimuthu Industrial Association (NIA) – Educational Institutions, held its 4th Graduation Ceremony on Pollachi.

M.Balasubramaniam, Vice President of NIA Educational Institutions presided over the program. Tusar Kanti Behera, Director, Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Bengaluru was the Chief Guest.

T.Rajkumar, Chairman of Confederation of Indian Textile Industry’s Standing Committee on Cotton and Director of Sakthi Group of Companies welcomed the gathering. Principal of the Institute, K.Prabhakar delivered the annual report.

Totally 320 candidates who successfully completed their UG program received their degrees from the Chief Guest. 5 achievers received the institution’s gold medal while 5 more received the silver and 6 bagged the bronze medals.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Guest Tusar Kanti Behera said that continuous learning and creativity are paramount to achieve one’s destiny.He highlighted agriculture’s contribution to India’s economy, especially its GDP and its ability to create jobs.

He also spoke about Pollachi’s strength in horticulture. The chief guest then appealed to the candidates to find various supports the government offers to those who wish to become agri-preneurs (Agriculture Entrepreneurs).

“See Agriculture as a transformative force and use your knowledge to create positive changes in this field,” he said.
