"Colleges & faculties are facilitators but you, the higher education aspirants, should pick the college-programs that you are passionate about, because it is your life," said S.Malarvizhi, Chairperson and Managing Trustee, Sri Krishna Institutions at the Dinamalar Vazhikati- education fair here on Wednesday.
Dinamalar Vazhikati is an education fair held for the students who have recently completed +2 std. It is held in Coimbatore, Chennai, Madurai regions to give awareness to students about the various college programs available around them.
Hundreds of students from Coimbatore and nearby regions like Mettupalayam, Tiruppur, Erode were present to take part in the program. It was inaugurated by Malarvizhi here in Coimbatore.
Delivering the inaugural address, she said that gone are the days where students vaguely picked a course and found jobs in companies.
She asked the student-community to be serious about their life and take responsibility when it comes to picking college-programs in which they have deep interest.
"Your life is your responsibility. You should know what you want to do and how you are going to live your life. Only when you know that you can define the growth of your life," she stressed.
She briefly highlighted the scope that is available in Arts&Science course and Engineering, and assured that all course offer opportunity to excel and earn handsomely but it is upto the students to elevate themselves.
She said that the way companies hire their employees today has totally changed. Hence once students pick their dream course, they need to be sure of what they want to accomplish, and start working on that from 1st year.
She wanted the students to increase their capabilities, consistently. Besides academic knowledge, she wanted them to develop interpersonal skills; especially aim to communication skills.
She also said that colleges have to train students from the first year various areas like aptitude, as challenges are huge today. She said chalk and talk methods alone won't do as we live in the Chat GPT era.
She appreciated Dinamalar for bringing various colleges in Coimbatore district under one roof, and facilitating awareness to students about various educational courses and career opportunities that come with it.
