UYIR- a Coimbatore-based popular NGO working in the field of road safety joined hands with Coimbatore Sahodaya Schools Complex to conduct a road safety awareness training program for School Bus Drivers and Conductors SSVM World School Coimbatore on Friday.

About 627 drivers and conductors from 42 CBSE Schools participated in this training session. K.Sathiya Kumar, Regional Transport officer, Coimbatore Central conducted the training session.

He trained them to acquire proper driving skills, prioritize safety measures, follow traffic rules, understand the importance of vehicle maintenance, and develop a strong sense of awareness to handle emergency situations with utmost care.

The session also emphasized decision-making, reaction time, concentration, tolerance, and the safety of other road users. All the 'do's and 'don'ts' of road safety were thoroughly explained. Resource person from UYIR, L.Kanaga Subramani, underlined the need for happiness in work throughout the day and strive to make our society accident free.

Ashok Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Coimbatore city was the Chief Guest and Manimekalai Mohan, the Managing Trustee of SSVM World School was the Guest of Honor.

The program was also attended by K.Navamani, Chairperson; A.Suguna Devi, President and S.A.Nirmala, Secretary, Coimbatore Sahodaya Schools Complex.
