Sources reported that the construction works for LuLu Hypermarket in Coimbatore has entered the final phase, and it is expected to open for public within a fortnight. 


UAE-based retail major Lulu group signed a MoU with Tamil Nadu Government in March 2022 and announced an investment of Rs 3,500 crore in the State to set up shopping malls, hypermarkets and a food-logistic park.


As a part of this deal, Coimbatore is getting its first LuLu Hypermarket this year at Lakshmi Mills Compound at Avinashi Road. 


The works for this hypermarket began last year. The works were speeded up in Feb 2023, and now sources say that the works are in final stage.


A wide-range of all house-hold products, for instance groceries, veggies & fruits, meat, fitness equipment, beauty products, electricals and electronics, mattress, bags & luggage, toys, stationery, eye wear, beauty products, are expected to be available in this hypermarket from sources like domestic sellers and vendors to international brands.


A separate section for bakery products, snacks, chaats will also be available in this hypermarket.


300 cars could be parked on a minimum while space to park 1000 bikes is also being made available here.
