Mysuru-Darbhanga Express reportedly collided with a stationary goods train on Friday evening around 8.50 p.m. at Kavarapettai, near Gummidipoondi in the Chennai Division of the Indian Railways.
Reports say that railway officials and rescue personnel have arrived at the spot to execute rescue operations.
Update: 12-13 coaches have derailed due to the collision but so far no one has been reported to be dead but there are few patients who have got injured. They have been taken to the nearest hospitals.
The investigation is on.
