Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) reportedly cancelled the entrance exam for admissions to PG Courses that was held on June 23rd for the academic 2024-25.

The students who wrote the exam received an e-mail regarding this cancellation yesterday night. Technical issues and software errors were reportedly stated as the reason for this sudden decision by the varsity. 

The University said that the fee the students paid while applying to participate in the exam will be refunded and an announcement regarding a re-examination date will be made in 10 days. 

The varsity is working on fixing the technical issues, according to its Vice Chancellor, V.Geethalakshmi. She said that admissions will not be delayed. The UG programs will conclude in September, and the classes for the PG programs will commence by the end of the same month.

Official statement from TNAU: 

TNAU released an official statement in this matter. It said that the  PG Admission process for the year 2024-25 was initiated on 8-5-2024 and the entrance examination for the above programs was held on 23.06.2024.  The varsity received applications from over 2800 students who are at different stages of completing their degrees from different State Agricultural Universities.

At this juncture, it was understood that majority of the students applied are completing their UG degree by the end of September’2024 and technical difficulties were encountered in accommodating new applicants. Hence it is decided to abolish the current admission process.

Fresh announcement for the Master’s and Doctoral admissions will be made during September’2024. The application fee and processing fee collected from the candidates will be refunded to their respective bank accounts.
