As a part of the centenary celebration of N.Mahalingam, Founder of Kumaraguru Institutions and the Sakthi Group; Kumaraguru Institutions launched 'The Orb', a mega space to host mega-events.
The Orb, which is built up in an area of 23,000 sq.ft., is located at Kumaraguru College of Technology. It houses an iconic 115 feet flag mast, which is one of the tallest in the region in an imposing circular podium, and it is integrated with an open, expansive pavilion with over 800 seating capacity.
The vision of the Orb is to play host to many events, activities and special moments at Kumaraguru Institutions.
It was launched on Friday by Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi and Param Vir Chakra Awardee Yogendra Singh Yadav in the presence of Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, Chairman, M.Balasubramaniam, Correspondent, KCT; Dr.Sameeran, District Collector, Coimbatore and Shankar Vanavarayar, Joint Correspondent, KCT.
Kailash Satyarthi inaugurated the pavilion while Yogendra Singh Yadav hoisted the tricolored flag.
Planned activities at The Orb:
KCT has planned to host NCC activities. It will be a regular space to congregate, practice and parade. The Orb will also be a space for screening films, hosting performances, dynamic discussions, organizing fairs, fests and a place for art and design expos. It will also be a venue for sports-related workouts, briefings, and formal events.
