If you ask anyone what dish is associated with Christmas, they would certainly say Plum Cake, right?

Well, if you visit Rush Republic’s Santa's Social, the biggest Christmas carnival happening at Codissia Grounds now or on Sunday between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m., you will be introduced to Weihnachtsstollen, an authentic German Christmas Fruit Bread that is loaded with nuts, spices, dried/candied fruit, and coated with powdered sugar.

If not Weihnachtsstollen, you have another alternative to the usual plum cake: the British White Plum Cake. White chocolate chunks, a mix of ghee and butter, nuts, and dry fruits all go into making this delicious dessert.

Christmas is still a few days away, but the city can’t wait for it. Hence, Rush Republic—a leading digital marketing powerhouse has organized the 7th edition of Santa's Social, a Christmas Carnival that features almost everything associated with the festival.

This two-day Christmas shopping festival has 100 stalls featuring 100+ brands related to women’s wear, men’s wear, kids’ wear, handbags, home decorations, artworks, toys, cosmetics, gifts, fancy novelties, tattoos & piercings, fun games, VR games, and much more.

Of course, Santa Social has tons of options for delicious food too. A wide range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes are hot and ready for guests at the stalls of popular food brands, including The Living Room, Aryen Biryani, Rolling Dough Café, Khan Saheb, Kailash Parbat, The Paniyaram Company, The Baking Society, and more.

The young band NH 47 performed on Saturday, while popular playback singer Vishnupriya (of Madras to Madurai song fame) will perform live at the event tomorrow (15.12.24). She will sing in Tamil, Hindi, and English.

Earlier, the band Rak’s Rhapsody from Rak’s Pallikoodam, the title sponsor of this carnival, performed a couple of Christmas songs and live music to entertain the gathering.

Rak’s student volunteers are also conducting a mini book exhibition at the event as a fundraiser for charity. Over 500 books of various genres, donated by students, are available for sale.

This carnival has something for everyone, and many visitors say that it is a must-visit for this Christmas season. The entry fee for this carnival is Rs. 200 for all attendees above five years of age.

A special mention should be made about the work being done by Dogs of Coimbatore (a non-profit initiative of the Vajra Foundation) at this carnival. The volunteers of this organization are working to manage the growing dog population in the city through sterilization, rabies vaccination, and awareness campaigns.

They have sterilized 6,847 street dogs in Coimbatore city so far, and through this carnival, they are selling merchandise like dog-themed badges, bookmarks, greeting cards, etc., to raise funds for their good work. Interested guests can buy them and support this wonderful initiative.
