A team from the State Highways Department conducted an inspection of the Vadakovai Flyover recently, planning to renovate the necessary areas after their evaluation.

The Vadakovai Flyover is one of the oldest flyovers in Coimbatore, used by thousands of motorists daily. It has been in operation since 1990 and has served as a crucial link for lakhs of motorists from Cross-Cut Road and Gandhipuram traveling towards R.S. Puram, Vadakovai, and Poo Market areas, as well as those heading towards Mettupalayam Road for over 30 years.

According to sources, a team led by Tamil Nadu State Highways Department Research Station Joint Director Elango recently inspected the flyover to assess areas requiring renovation. The team also examined the underpass to identify solutions for addressing water stagnation.

Once a detailed report recommending the necessary renovation works at the flyover is submitted to the Highways Department, an estimate will be prepared, and a tender will be floated to initiate the improvement work on the flyover.
