Deputy Chief Minister of Tamilnadu Udayanidhi Stalin said on Thursday that the design renders of the proposed International Cricket stadium at Open Air Prison land in Ondipudur, Coimbatore has been examined and the government will be moving forward with the next steps to ensure work begins soon as expected by cricket lovers.

 

The Minister chaired a key meeting on Thursday in Chennai and it had the participation of Government officials, Tamil Nadu Cricket Association representatives, and Design Consultants. According to the minister, the members presented comprehensive plans for this major project that focuses on the design elements that will meet international standards

"This international cricket stadium will not only serve as a premier cricket destination but also boost Coimbatore's status as a major sporting hub in South India," he said.

 

The stadium was announced by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister as a poll-promise ahead of the 2024 General Election. The government aims to build this stadium with world-class features.

 

A report states that this upcoming superstructure could potentially have World Class Seating Facilities and Refreshment Plaza for the audience, Premium Rooms for Players; Sophisticated Gym, Indoor Fielding Zone, Pitch Curation Facility; Separate high-end Restaurant for Players; Spas, Clubhouse, Sports Bar; VIP Rooms, Corporate Rooms; Media Hub and Broadcast Hall, Briefing Hall etc.
