NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Barry "Butch" Wilmore, who are stuck in space for 9 months+, are scheduled to return to Earth on Tuesday, March 19, 2025 as per Indian Standard Time (IST).

Originally, Williams and Wilmore were set to return aboard Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft. However, the Starliner encountered significant propulsion system issues, and as a result, their mission at the International Space Station (ISS) was extended well beyond its original schedule.

Sunita Williams and Wilmore will be traveling back to Earth aboard Elon Musk's SpaceX's Crew-9 Dragon spacecraft. The capsule is expected to splash down off the coast of Florida at approximately 3:27 a.m. (IST) on March 19, 2025.

NASA has confirmed that live coverage of the Crew-9 Dragon’s return will begin with hatch closure preparations at 8:15 a.m. IST on March 18.The coverage will be available on NASA’s official website and social media channels.
