Residents of Ooty who benefited from the free medical camp organized by Sri Ramakrishna Hospital under SNR Sons Charitable Trust, Coimbatore expressed their gratitude to the hospital for conducting this free, high quality check-up in their hometown.

The camp was held on June 30, 2024, to support the people of Ooty, Nilgiris District, especially the underprivileged. It took place at Devangar Thirumana Mandappam from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., providing free health consultations to the residents of Ooty.

The event was conducted under the guidance of D. Lakshminarayanaswamy, the Managing Trustee of SNR Sons Charitable Trust. It was inaugurated by District Superintendent of Police Sundaravadivel, in the presence of the CEO of the Trust, C.V. Ramkumar, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital's Medical Director, Dr. Rajagopal, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Alagappan, and Public Relations Manager, Dr.Prahadeeshwaran. Ph.D.

Medical experts in various fields, including Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Urology, Dental, Cardiology, and Pulmonology, provided free consultations at this comprehensive camp. Additionally, as a special gesture, a fee concession of up to 25% was offered to those requiring surgery.

Free screenings for average blood sugar levels, BMI, and blood levels were provided. Moreover, free pregnancy tests, echocardiograms, ECGs, bone density tests, abdominal scans, and more were made available for those referred by the doctors.

Consultations for surgeries, such as hernia repair, anal fissure treatment, cholecystitis surgery, uterine and vulvar tumor surgeries, hip and joint replacement surgeries, varicose vein treatment, prostate swelling, infertility consultation, thyroid treatment, and kidney stone removal, were also offered. Those needing further treatment will be given special rate concessions at Sri Ramakrishna Hospital.

Departmental medical specialists, nurses, hospital staff, and students of Sri Ramakrishna Hospital were fully engaged in the grand Free Medical and Surgical Counseling Camp. Preparations were thorough, ensuring the camp was a boon to the people of Nilgiris district. With great interest from the community, the camp registered 750 participants by the afternoon and benefited nearly 1,000 people.
