Royal Care Institute of Nursing, Coimbatore organized Lamp Lighting and Oath Taking ceremony for its first year B.Sc Nursing and DGNM students recently. This ceremony is held as a tribute to Florence Nightingale who is hailed as The Lady with the Lamp and is widely considered as the Founder of Modern Nursing.

This occasion formally declares the students' entry into nursing profession. The lighting of the lamp symbolizes transfer of knowledge, skill & spirit of nursing among the students. It was followed by the oath taking ceremony.

Dr. M. Gowri, Deputy Director of Family Welfare was the Chief Guest of the event. Dr. K. Madeswaran, Chairman and Managing Trustee of Royal Care Institute of Nursing, Coimbatore, presided over the program. 

The Chief emphasized on the importance of strong clinical knowledge in the practice of Nursing Profession. She appealed to the students to acquire knowledge during their period of study and apply it to make lives
