Bengaluru-based electric scooter manufacturer, River joined hands with Rajdurai E Mobility, an offshoot of the Hindustan Group, a prominent name in Coimbatore's industry sector to launch its first store in Coimbatore and its 10th store overall at Ramanathapuram (next to Alvernia School) at Trichy Road on Thursday.

Respected businesswoman and educationist Nandini Rangaswamy took part as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the 1200 sq.ft showroom in the presence of Aravind Mani, Co-Founder, River and Ashwini, MD, Rajdurai E Mobility, Coimbatore and the head of this dealership.

This new showroom offers Indie- the latest EV scooter from River. Talking about River, it's Co-Founder Aravind Mani said that the company is 3.5 years old and the first 2 years were spent entirely on R&D. All the parts in the product are completely made in-house. So far, River has opened 10 showrooms in various parts of Indian and have sold 4000+ Indie scooters.

Talking specifically about Indie, he said the EV offers a range of 110 km on a single charge. The max speed it offers is 90kms. The regular charger that comes with the vehicle can charge the entire battery in 5.5 hours while the fast charger that is currently available in River's Service Centers (and soon will be set up at its outlets) can quickly charge it in 1.5 hours. Indie comes with a 3 year/30,000km warranty that could be extended to another 2 years/20,000km.

Developed as a utility vehicle with style, Indie is the only EV with 14-inch wheels. It offers 43 litres storage under the seat and 12 litre storage in the glove box, making Indie probably the largest storage offering EV. The front leg space is also one of the biggest.

Indie comes with lots of features focusing on utility, giving it the moniker the SUV of Scooters. Youngsters who depend on 2-wheelers for livelihood can gain maximum benefits from this stylish and utility-focused EV.  It comes in 5 colors - Blue, Red, White, Grey, and Yellow. The price is Rs. 1,42,999 (ex-showroom).

River's nearest service center is just 200 meters from the outlet here. The company has plans to open 25 stores across India by March 2025. It will open its next outlets in Vellore, Erode and Tirupur.
