Coimbatore-based Idhayangal Charitable Trust and J.Swarnalatha, Managing Trustee of Swarga Foundation have been declared as the winners of the 2024 Governor’s Award under the social service categories. These awards are given to celebrate individuals and organizations dedicated to enhancing societal well-being and promoting environmental stewardship.

'Idhayangal' is serving poor children who are in need of diabetic care. It is headed by Dr.Krishnan Swaminathan, a renowned endocrinologist.

Swarnalatha who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2009, works to support accessibility and rehabilitation of differently abled people. The awardees will receive their awards from the Governor of Tamil Nadu during 'AT HOME' Reception on Republic Day on 26.01.2025 at Raj Bhavan, Chennai. 

Idhayangal will receive Rs.5 lakhs cash reward and citation while Ms.Swarnalatha will receive Rs. 2 lakhs cash reward and citation.
