Students of The Lawrence School, Lovedale engaged with veteran Tamil Film Maker Mani Ratnam during the recently held Ooty Literary Festival, a 2-day event that focuses on literature, politics, cinema, and history.

Mr.Ratnam was one of the 40 speakers of the fest organized by an independent board of trustees and special committee members. He led a captivating session titled “Conversations with Mani Ratnam.”

During this session, he reflected on his cinematic journey, storytelling approach, and the cultural impact of his films. The discussion offered attendees rare insights into his creative process and the narratives that have shaped Indian cinema over the decades.

Besides Mani Ratnam, the fest included journalist Rajdeep Sardesai, cricketer Srikkanth Krishnamachari, musician TM Krishna as speakers.
