Following the instruction from Health Department to keep all medicines, especially those used for treating covid infection in adequate stock, Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) has kept all the medicines ready.

Earlier, the Health Department had instructed government hospitals to keep all types of medicines, including Remdesivir, in stock as covid-infection is increasing across the country.

The Department also advised the government hospitals to be ready to face sudden rises in covid cases (if they occur)

Speaking about this to news daily 'Dinamalar', Coimbatore Government Hospital Dean Nirmala said, “ If covid cases accelerate, Coimbatore GH will be ready to face it as we have made all arrangements to deal with it. We have also kept adequate beds ready in the wards, here. If necessary, the number of beds will be increased.”

Speaking about medicines, specifically, she said that while Remdesivir is not mandatory, adhering to the instructions of the government, all the medicines have been kept in stock.
