Out of the Rs.200 crore allotted by Chief Minister MK Stalin to improve roads of Coimbatore, works worth Rs.26 crore to relay roads began recently. The rest of the projects will begin by March 2023 and roads of Covai's Municipality areas will also be improved, Minister Senthil Balaji said on Wednesday.

 

The CM will be landing in Coimbatore on Thursday to take part in the events arranged in Erode and Karur on Nov.11th, and Minister Senthil Balaji is overseeing the preparations for the visit.

 

Speaking to reporters, he said that 85% of the land acquisition for the expansion of Coimbatore International Airport has been completed, and the remaining works will be completed in the next 2-3 months.

 

He said the Chief Minister has ordered to expedite the various flyover projects in the city, and efforts are being taken to do that.

 

The Chief Minister will take part in a government function in Karur's Aravankurichi, where he will give the orders for free EB connections to 50,000 farmers.

 

DMK has planned to give a grand welcome to their party's President during his arrival at the airport and during his visit to Covai tomorrow.
