A report states that Living Together relationships are gradually increasing in Coimbatore, at the same time complaints related to living together are rising in areas such as Puliakulam, Rathinapuri, Selvapuram, Saravanampatti, Ramanathapuram, etc. While living together is not a crime, cases are being investigated based on the complaints given by parents or family members. 

It has also come to light that a few unmarried couples in Coimbatore reportedly lie to house-owners that they are married and live together at the houses for rent. Couples hiding their relationship from the house-owners actually create trouble for the latter when families come searching.

Sources mention that few couples from different states have rented houses in Coimbatore lying to house-owners as married couples. Such incidents have also seen a gradual rise. They hide their relationship to family members and live secretly.
