Kongunadu Arts and Science College (KASC) signed a MoU with the prestigious Zoological Survey of India, Kolkata (ZSI) during the latter’s 109th Foundation Day at Kolkata.

The MoU was signed by the Secretary of KASC, Vasuki and Dhriti Banerjee Director of ZSI in the presence of Bhupender Yadav, Minister for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, and the Director General of MOEF&CC, Government of India.

A press release from the college said that the primary aim of the MoU is to engage Scientists/Faculty members and students of KASC and ZSI in various inter-disciplinary research activities and seek research funding jointly from public and private funding agencies of national and/or international reputes.

Further exchange of students and faculty, organizing joint conferences/workshops/symposia and exchange of scientific knowledge between the two institutions are also an important agenda through the MoU.

This MoU is very special for the institution where in the institution celebrated its 50 years of excellence in 2023. Further the founder of the institution Dr.M Aruchami was a renowned Zoologist who always had a vision to empower the Department of Zoology with myriad scientific inputs from institutions in India and abroad.
