Hashini Kadhir, a young track-cyclist from Coimbatore participated in the Asmita Khelo India Women's League Track Cycling League (South Zone) and competed in 5 different events and brought home 4 medals that includes 2 gold and 2 silver.
The event was held at Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE), Trivandrum, Kerala from September 19–20, 2024. Hashini bagged Gold medals in Sprint and Kerin and Silver medals in Time-trail and Pursuit events, and also received a total cash prize of Rs. 32,000.
For 6 years, Hasini has been training in different categories of cycling including Track, Road and MTB. She has competed in the national level events in Road and Track categories for the last 3 years. She received 2 Gold medals in MTB category national level events held in 2023 and a Gold and Silver in 2022.
Acknowledging her achievements, The Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu handed over a high cash incentive of Rs. 11 lakh 2 months ago. Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin handed over the cheque to Hashini. Also, this young athlete has been selected under Khelo India scheme, and is getting trained at SAI Camp in Trivandrum. It must be mentioned that CFI - Cycling Federation of India is training her for the 2028 Olympics.
Hasini will be in action next in New Delhi on January 2025 to take part in the Asmita Khelo India Women's League Track Cycling League Nationals event. She is pursuing her 10th Grade at Ashram Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Kovaipudur, CBE.
