Two student-teams from Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology that reached the final stage of Darkathon 2022, hosted by Narcotics Control Bureau of India,  had bested several competitors from IITs, and received top honors from Home Minister Amit Shah for the solutions they provided to the respective problem-statements on Saturday. 

The teams Cipher Infoline and Breakpoint participated in the finals of Darkathon that was held in the Headquarters of Narcotics Control Bureau of India in New Delhi on July 19th. 

Samuel Wycliffue (IV CSE), Kumaraguru T (IV CSE) and Bhuvanesh T G (III M.Tech CSE) of Cipher Infoline worked on the problem statement ‘Digital foot printing of active drug traffickers on dark net based in India’. Their innovative solution helped them bag the first position with a cash award of Rs.2.5 Lakh. 

Aravindha Hariharan (IT), Gowtham R (IT) and Kumaran S (Mech), Batch of (2018-22) of  Team Breakpoint worked on the  problem statement ‘Crawling of darkweb to identify and catalogue active and genuine darknet markets selling drugs’ (automatically add new markets and drop inactive/taken down markets). This placed them at the second position with a cash award of Rs. 2 lakh. 

The teams from Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology had competition from the students of IIT Delhi, IIT Bhuvaneshwar, IIT Goa, IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay and VJTI Mumbai, at the finale and emerged triumphant.   

The teams were mentored by Prof.A. Priya of CSE Department and Prof. G. Shobana of IT Department of SKCET.

Chairperson of Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, S.Malarvizhi, congratulated the students and the mentors wholeheartedly. The students were also congratulated by K.Sundararaman, CEO, SKCET along with J.Janet, Principal, SKCET and faculty fraternity of SKCET.
