The 16th edition of Coimbatore Vizha began on Jan 2nd. As a part of this, various celebrations and events have commenced across the city and will go on till Jan 8th.
Every year, the organizers of Coimbatore Vizha highlight a heritage building in Coimbatore, and for this year they are showcasing the majesty of the iconic Tamil Nadu Agricultural University’s building in the city via a Light and Sound show.
The TNAU building boasts of a grand Indo- Saracenic Architecture design and made of red table-molded brick in mortar and finely dressed cut-stones. The Madras High Court, Mysore Palace and even the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai follow this classical design.
This 100+ years old building has stood the test of time, and has witnessed the transformation that TNAU and Coimbatore have undergone over the years. It is no doubt that this magnificent edifice and this premier university hold a special place in Coimbatore’s rich history and legacy.
The inaugural of this Light and Sound show took place today. Colourful lights along with music are giving a new dimension to the glory of theTNAU building in the evening hours.
The public can freely visit and enjoy the show from 6.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. from Jan. 2nd to 8th. Ample space will be provided for parking the vehicles.
