Jairam Varadaraj, Managing Director of ELGi Equipments Ltd, was bestowed with the esteemed Jamshedji Tata Award by the Indian Society of Quality on December 1, 2023.

Jamsetji Tata Award is given to industry leaders who have made significant contribution to the Indian society through their work of leading on organization with exceptional and holistic focus on quality. 

This prestigious award is presented by Indian Society for Quality, a ‘Not - for - Profit’ Society by Quality Professionals with the objective of providing a National Forum for Quality Education and for advisory role. 

Nandan Nilekani, Co-Founder and Chairman of Infosys Technologies Limited received the award in 2021 while T.V. Narendran, CEO & Managing Director Tata Steel Limited received it in 2022.

This year it has been bestowed upon Jairam Vardaraj, Managing Director, Elgi Equipments Limited. 

In his acceptance speech, Jairam Varadaraj expressed how elated he is to have earned his place among the illustrious list of previous winners. He appreciated the efforts of all his colleagues, who work relentlessly on quality management.

He further said that Total Quality Management (TQM) has played a significant role in ELGi’s journey to offer the ‘Always Better’ promise to our customers. The efforts of our team in the field of quality were recognised when we were awarded the coveted Deming Prize in 2019.
