Adhering to the call for 'Drug Free Tamil Nadu' made by State's Chief Minister M.K.Stalin, the students and staff members of Kongunadu Arts and Science College took a pledge against Drug Abuse recently.
The pledge was taken in all classrooms by 1200 students and members of staff at the College Auditorium. The students and staff witnessed the live telecast of the pledge organized by Narcotic Intelligence Bureau, CID unit and Tamil Nadu Government at Chennai at the College auditorium, where the pledge was administered by the CM and it was taken by the college students.
Post taking the pledge, an awareness program on ‘Drug Free Tamil Nadu’ was conducted by Anti-drug abuse committee of the college. S. Rathnakumar, Inspector of Police, Thudiyalur Police Station delivered a special address on ‘Drug usage and its effects on life and family’.
Close to 4500 students and staff members participated in this Drug Free Tamil Nadu program.
