The construction of a lift system to aid devotees, especially the aged and differently-abled, reach Marudamalai Subramaniasamy Temple easily from parking area of the temple is going on in full swing, and it is soon going to get completed as per a recent report.

Climbing the stairs from parking area is not that simple for many devotees, and a lift/elevator system was requested by devotees for quite some time.  According to The Hindu, this project involves installing 4 lifts, with 2 servicing the ground level (parking area) to 17.15 m height and the other 2 connecting the 17.15 m to 23.10 m level, facilitating easy access from the hill car parking area to the hill temple floor. Each lift will have a capacity to transport 20 passengers at a time.  

The project is being carried out at the cost of Rs.5.20 crore and it began in 2021. The construction works were green lit by Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M.K.Stalin. A latest report mentions that 70% of the construction works of the project are over, and the remaining works will be completed in the next 3 months. The completion of this project will provide a great relief to many devotees.
