The Coimbatore – Mayiladuturai-Coimbatore Jan Shatabdi Express Trains, which run with conventional coaches now, will run with LHB coaches with effect from today (28.12.24)  German-origin Linke Hoffmann Busch coaches, known commonly as the LHB coaches come equipped with many facilities that make sure passengers travel comfortably.

LHB coaches were developed by Linke-Hofmann-Busch of Germany. Now, these coaches are being manufactured in India. These coaches can be operated at higher speeds and have a higher passenger capacity than the conventional coaches. They are also lighter as compared to conventional coaches.

Each coach also has an advanced pneumatic disc brake system for efficient braking at higher speeds and modular interiors. Improved suspension system of LHB coaches provides more riding comfort to passengers. The air-conditioning system of these coaches is of higher capacity.

Coimbatore Jn - Mayiladuturai Jan Shatabdi Express (12084) leaves Coimbatore Jn at 07.15 a.m.on all days of the week except Tuesdays and reaches Mayiladutural at 1.45 p.m. the same day. The returning train Mayiladuturai - Coimbatore Jn Jan Shatabdi Express (12083) leaves Mayiladuturai at 3.10 p.m. hrs on all days of the week except Tuesdays and reaches Coimbatore Jn at 9.30 p.m. the same day. It is noteworthy to mention that this train service began in 2003 and it is completing 21 years ago.
