At the National Panchayat Awards 2024, Coimbatore’s Keeranatham panchayat won an award under the Best Self-sufficient Infrastructure’.

The panchayat successfully implemented Solid Waste Management, achieved 100% source segregation with no landfill with assistance from various Corporate entities and Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore (NGO). It also implemented ‘My Dream School' project in Keeranatham Panchayat Union Middle School with CSR funds. 

All these made the panchayat take home the award. The panchayat’s president R.Palanisamy received the Award from President of India Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi on Wednesday.
