With the recent addition of direct flights to Abu Dhabi and Singapore, Coimbatore International Airport is getting a good amount of international traffic. It handled over 2 lakh international passengers during the financial year 2024-25 (up to January 31), and this number is expected to rise further in the final tally after March 31.

According to a report, the airport handled a total of 25.57 lakh passengers in FY 2022-23, of which 1.94 lakh were international and 23.62 lakh were domestic. 1,278 international flights used the airport.

In FY 2023-24, the total number of passengers rose to 29.04 lakh, with 2.11 lakh international and 26.93 lakh domestic travelers. 1,339 international flights used the airport.

For the ongoing FY 2024-25, the airport has already handled 26.90 lakh passengers as of January 31. This includes 2.15 lakh international and 24.75 lakh domestic passengers. 1,437 international flights used the airport.

With the current trend, the international passenger count is expected to rise further by the end of the financial year, and the total number of passengers is likely to approach 30 lakh.
