Tamil Nadu Cricket Association has selected Praveen Thiyagarajan, a student of Karunya Deemed University pursuing his final year B.Com. as the Captain of Tamilnadu Cricket Team under19 the category.

A resident of Ooty, Praveen who lost his parents at a young age, all through his life had to face greater discouragements and disappointments, still he firmly stuck to his passion.

He had to strive hard and learn new methods to excel in his attempt to become the captain. The Chancellor of Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Paul Dhinakaran congratulated Praveen and wished him to win more laurels through best performance and strive to become a key player in the Indian Team.

The student was given a full scholarship for his studies in Karunya as a sign of appreciation and such an act by the management will encourage the students to participate in State and National Sports.

Vice Chancellor Mannar Jawahar, Trustee Samuel Paul Dhinakaran, Elijah C Blessing, the Registrar, faculty and students cheered Praveen for the selection.
