While the District & City Administration, Coimbatore City Police, NGOs, and corporates are taking measures to make Coimbatore roads safe, a group of irresponsible young men take the roads for granted and use them for their thrills without giving thought to the safety of the public.

Sources said on Thursday that videos of young men performing bike stunts on major roads in Coimbatore city, with the intent to gain notoriety on social media, are being shared under the Instagram ID @c_l_u_t_c_h__breaker.

A visit to the Instagram page revealed that a duo is performing various bike stunts, such as wheelies and stoppies on Race Course Road, Peelamedu Fun Mall Road, Avinashi Road, and CODISSIA Road without regard for pedestrians or oncoming traffic.

A cameraman, possibly riding as a pillion passenger on another bike, is recording the acts. In another video, a group of young men is seen performing stunts on a major highway.Several stunt videos were uploaded under this ID, and the page accumulated more than 13,000 followers.

In order to keep their identity secret, the riders have masked their number plates in most videos; in few they have even hidden their number plates using hard covers. However, as soon as reports about these nuisances were published on news sites, the user made all the posts private.

Residents of Coimbatore expect the police to take strict action against these individuals.
