The 19th Graduation Ceremony of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus was held on Thursday. N. Ravi, Governor of Tamil Nadu took part in the Convocation as the Chief Guest and gave away the degree certificates to 1,808 students, including 588 girls and 1,220 boys. 


A press release from Amrita said that this year the 20 Ph.D degrees were bagged equally by boys and girls. In addition, 4 students of the campus who topped the program across all the campuses of the university received gold medals for academic excellence and 73 campus-level medallists were awarded.


In his convocation address, R.N. Ravi, Governor of Tamil Nadu said “… we look forward to the youth empowered with the right knowledge, skills, and values to taking India to greater heights in the next 25 years…”


“…Most of the start-ups in the country are being done by young men and women, earlier this latent creativity was suppressed. With creative domains reopening, we can see the growing power of our youth and we need to place trust in them and breaking through the stigma…”


The Guest of Honor Dattatri Salagame, President & MD, Bosch Global Software Technologies, Bengaluru, in his address said “...never think someone is better than you by default. Despite of mind-altering impulses you’ll get, you need to build your own conviction. Stay curious forever. Have an attitude to be a learner for life because technology is changing every 4 years which is at a faster pace. Lastly, We might feel we aren’t ready yet, regardless find your confidence...”
