Southern Railways announced on Saturday that advance reservation for Special Trains between Coonoor and Ooty; Round Trip Joy Ride Special Trains between Ooty and Ketti and Special Trains between ooty and Coonoor will commence at 8 a.m. from 23.3.25.

Tourists visit The Nilgiris in large numbers throughout the year, especially during holidays. For many, a visit to The Nilgiris is incomplete without a ride on a Nilgiri Mountain Railway train. To cater to the tourism needs of such rail fans, heritage enthusiasts, nature lovers, tourists etc., Summer Special Trains will be operated in Nilgiri Mountain Railway. 

A.Special Trains between Coonoor - Ooty

Train No.06177 Coonoor-Ooty Special Train will leave Coonoor at 08.20 a.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays & Mondays from 28.03.2025 to 07.07.2025 to reach Ooty at 09.40 a.m. the same day.

Train No.06180 Ooty - Coonoor Special Train will leave Ooty at 4.45 p m. p.m. on Fridays & Sundays from 28.03.2025 to 07.07.2025 to reach Coonoor at 5.55 p.m. the same day.

B. Round Trip Joy Ride Special Trains between Ooty - Ketti

3 Round Trip Joy Rides per day will be operated between Ooty - Ketti-Ooty on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays & Mondays from 28.03.2025 to 07.07.2025. The trip begins and ends at Ooty while covering Lovedale and Ketti. The first trip starts in Ooty at 9.45 a.m., second is at 11.30 a.m. and the final trip is at 3 p.m.

C.Special Trains between Ooty - Coonoor

Train No.06176 Ooty - Coonoor Special Train will leave Ooty at 2.50 p.m. on Fridays & Sundays from 28.03.2025 to 06.07.2025 to reach Coonoor at 3.55 p.m. the same day.

Tain No.06199 Coonoor Ooty Special Train will leave Coonoor at 09.20 a.m. on Saturdays & Mondays from 29.03.2025 to 07.07.2025 to reach Ooty at 10.45 a.m. the same day.
