The 15th edition of the Tour of Nilgiris, an annual cycling extravaganza organized by the Karnataka-based Ride a Cycle Foundation, was flagged off on Sunday by Karnataka's Revenue Minister, Krishna Byre Gowda.

This eight-day cycling expedition, involving 80 participants and 60 crew members, will traverse 800 kilometers from Mysuru to Coimbatore via The Nilgiris, with the aim to promote cycle tourism and raise awareness about the benefits of cycling.

Since its inception in 2008, this annual cycling mega event has captivated adventure enthusiasts worldwide. Each year, nearly 100 riders embark on a thrilling journey through the breathtaking Western Ghats.

The 15th edition promises to be no different, offering cyclists an unforgettable experience as they conquer challenging climbs, descend serene valley roads, and immerse themselves in the region's natural beauty. Participants will traverse through lush tea estates, dense forests, and quaint hillside villages, witnessing the Ghats' awe-inspiring landscapes at every turn. Minister Krishna Byre also participated in the event and  pedalled 10 kms.

It must be mentioned that the ride will end at Coimbatore's Mettupalayam region on Dec 15th.
