Round Table India is making dreams take flight for 25 underprivileged children from Coimbatore by offering them an unforgettable first-ever flying experience.
As a part of their 'Flight of Fantasy' initiative, these children from Coimbatore were taken on a Coimbatore-to-Chennai trip on Wednesday for an educational and recreational tour.
The effort is a collaboration between Coimbatore ACME Round Table 133, Coimbatore Penta Round Table 101, Tirupur Round Table 116, and Madras Metro Round Table 95, with generous support from GEM Hospital, Coimbatore.
The children embarked on an early morning flight from Coimbatore to Chennai, followed by enriching visits to the Chennai Planetarium and Aquarium, where they explored science and marine life. Accompanied by Round Table India members, caretakers, and volunteers, the initiative aims to bring joy, inspiration, and cherished memories to these young minds.
Speaking about the initiative, Tr. Mohanraj, Area Flight of Fantasy Convenor, said that this effort is not just about giving children a flight experience but about expanding their horizons, making them dream beyond boundaries, and instilling confidence. He added that seeing the excitement in their eyes makes all the effort worthwhile.
Area Chairman Tr. Raghulan Sekhar highlighted that Flight of Fantasy, organized annually by Round Table India, holds a special place in their hearts. He expressed joy in being part of this meaningful journey that spreads happiness to these children year after year.
GEM Hospital has played an integral role in supporting this initiative by extending generous sponsorship. Dr. Praveenraj, Managing Director of the hospital stated that at GEM Hospital, the focus is not just on healthcare but also on holistic community well-being. Supporting Flight of Fantasy, he said, is a privilege, as small acts of kindness like this can have a life-changing impact on children.
Leading the initiative are Area Chairman Tr. Raghulan Sekhar and the chairmen of the participating Round Tables. They emphasized the importance of providing children with opportunities to dream big and see a brighter future ahead.
Tr. Varun Anand, Chairman of Madras Metro Round Table 95, noted that such experiences serve as stepping stones for young minds to believe in themselves and aspire to greater achievements.
Flight of Fantasy is more than just a trip. It is about inspiring dreams, igniting curiosity, and spreading happiness. Tr. Subash, Chairman of Coimbatore ACME Round Table 133, said that every child deserves a moment of joy and a glimpse into a world full of possibilities, and this initiative aims to make that happen.
The kids will return to Coimbatore at 7.30 p.m. this evening completing their Flight of Fantasy.
