The 23rd Annual ISECT Conference, ISECTCON2023 Coimbatore, organized by the Indian Society of Extracorporeal Technology on Feb 17 & 18 at Hindusthan Educational Institutions was attended by various perfusionists around the world to share advanced implementations in perfusion. 

 

This event was graced by R. Sundar, Joint Managing Trustee, SNR Charitable Trust, as the special guest.

 

 Perfusionists are highly skilled healthcare professionals who are part of the core team in managing cardiopulmonary bypass procedures during open heart surgeries. Their work is multidisciplinary and includes many facets, such as handling ECMO, Circulatory Support devices, Heart and Lung Transplantation, etc.

 

The national convention was attended by various perfusionists from all over the country. Distinguished speakers and eminent research scholars from national and international faculties were also invited. 

 

Joint Managing Trustee, SNR Charitable Trust, R. Sundar shared his insights and congratulated all the members of the event for the recent advancements in the field of perfusion.

 

Also present were other distinguished delegates, including Dr. Thiagarajamurthy, Chief Cardiothoracic Surgeon, Organising Secretary of IACTSCON 2023, Coimbatore National convention for cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons, which is also held on the same dates. 

 

K. Manivannan, the Organising Secretary of ISECTCON2023, Coimbatore, along with his organizing teammates, who were instrumental in successfully streamlining the event, introduced the guests and expressed his gratitude to all the delegates gathered for the inaugural ceremony of the conference. 

 

The two-day conference featured various scientific sessions from renowned guest speakers and researchers who presented their papers. The symposium served as a key platform to learn and discuss the latest advancements in perfusion technology, patient care, and research. Key topics of discussion included perfusion in cardiac surgery, organ transplantation, and critical care management.

 

Expert speakers and panelists from across the country shared their knowledge and experience. The event served as a networking programme with fellow attendees and to connect with multiple leading healthcare and medical device manufacturing companies and featured some of the top global industries in the field of perfusion. Separate stalls were allotted to display their latest products and equipment.

 

This event also served as a launchpad for upcoming students and interns pursuing perfusion technology course from various allied health institutions from all parts of the country, who also gained valuable insights, learned new techniques and protocols from hands-on training sessions conducted, and had the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the experts.
