Students in Pollachi should aspire to become entrepreneurs especially in space infrastructure field, and Pollachi should become a hub for space activities, wished Dr.K.Sivan, the Rocket Man of India, on Monday at Pollachi at an award ceremony. 

 

 

Rotary Pollachi of Rotary International District 3203 honored Indian Space Research Organization's Former Chairman Dr.K.Sivan with its prestigious 'For the Sake of Honor' Award on Monday at Bharat Ratna C.Subramaniam Hall at Dr.Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology, Pollachi. 

 

 

Lt.Gen.S.L.Narasimhan, Member of National Security Advisory Board, India was the Chief Guest of the ceremony. He honored Dr.K.Sivan along with Rtn.PHF.P.T.S.Maheswar, President, Rtn. PHF.S.Logesh, Secretary, Rotary Pollachi along with Rtn.MPHF.C.M.Hariraj, Chair of Vocational Services.

 

 

Accepting the award, Dr.K.Sivan said that he dedicates this award to his team at ISRO. He said all the accomplishments he made had become possible because of his team.

 

 

He said that a change is happening in India due to the efforts taken up by Prime Minister on various areas to make this country a global leader.

 

 

The Indian Government has taken so much efforts to make the academic-startup-industry ecosystem vibrant, and this ecosystem is really conducive one for the entrepreneurs, he said. 

 

 

Hence, students should aspire to become entrepreneurs, and even set foot in the space infrastructure market as it has lot of potential to provide progress to both the nation and the industrious and innovative solution providers, he added.

 

 

Earlier, Rtn.P.T.S.Maheswar welcomed the gathering and shared about the 37 years of selfless service Rotary Pollachi has done, and the yeoman service it does for the community especially in the field of literacy and health.

 

 

Lt.Gen.S.L.Narasimhan offered felicitation. He further spoke directly to the student community, and urged them to make use of their schools and colleges to the best possible way. 

 

 

He shared them how China has thought big about the future and has developed its industrial/manufacturing capabilities, and likewise Indian youth should also think big and long.
