The Supreme Court on Thursday affirmed Madras High Court's order upholding the conduct of a special general council meeting in July, 2022 that chose Edappadi Palaniswami as interim general secretary and expelled rival O. Panneerselvam (O.P.S) from the party, Mr.Palaniswami has become the undisputed leader of ADMK. 

Responding to this judgement, expelled ADMK icon O.P.S said that no judgement is a setback for his faction. "In fact our team is only now getting started to fight this war stronger," he said on Friday.

OPS met the press and media in Chennai, and said:-

We are fighting to preserve and protect the ADMK laws that M.G R and J.Jayalalithaa followed.

Former Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa is the permanent General Secretary of ADMK, and no one has the power to revoke that decision.

This is a party that was started by M.G.R. for the people and his followers; because of that we are fighting this 'Dharma Yudham' 

Our legion is going to seek justice from the public. We will go district-wise and meet the people. We beleive that we will get justice from them.
