Women empowerment is most critical today to make India attain real development – Prof.E.Balagurusamy
“More than 50% of Indian population comprise of women. Unless women contribute economically & socially, and also take part in all facets of economic development, it is very difficult to make India a developed country. Hence, women empowerment is most critical today to make India attain real development. They need to be empowered through education and they should be equal part of all activity in India,” expressed former Vice Chancellor of Anna University and Chairman of EBG Foundation, Prof.E.Balagurusamy on Thursday.
EBG Foundation, chaired by E.Balagurusamy is organizing the first edition of EBG Socio-Innovation Summit in Coimbatore on Saturday (26.10.24) at Sri Ramakrishna Auditorium with active partnership of academic institutions and industries on the theme ‘Empowering Women, Enriching Society’.
The Prime Minister of India wants India to become a developed nation by 2047. For India to attain the status of a developed nation, it should first develop in multiple areas like Per Capita Income. “GDP alone cannot make India a developed nation. For such transformation to take place in India, the country needs to grow in multiple avenues and women’s participation and contribution is crucial for that, the professor opined. He said that the summit will try to pitch that to participants that will include college faculties, industrialists, representatives of industry, NGOs. The summit will focus on women’s economical, political, social, educational and digital empowerment.
