Coimbatore North Ladies Circle 11, Coimbatore North Round Table 20, and Madras Anchorage Round Table 100, all known for their philanthropic and noble initiatives, joined hands to organize a program called ‘Flight of Fantasy’, under which they took 15 underprivileged children on a flight trip from Chennai to Coimbatore and back to Chennai.

To provide more details about this initiative, a press conference was held at Cheran Hall in Brookfields Mall. Tr. Arun Gunasekaran, Chairman of Coimbatore North Round Table 20; Tr. Naresh, Chairman of Madras Anchorage Round Table 100; and Tr. Aravindan, Treasurer of Coimbatore North Round Table 20, addressed the press and media.

Tr. Aravindan shared that the ‘Flight of Fantasy’ program has been conducted annually for three years and this is the 4th occasion. Each year, an orphanage is selected from either Chennai or Coimbatore, and the most disciplined and accomplished children are given the opportunity to fly and explore the beauty of their host city.

This year, 15 such children were chosen from SRS Sarvodhaya Home in Chennai. All the children are currently studying in various schools. They flew from Chennai to Coimbatore today, arriving at the airport at 9:30 a.m. During their visit, they explored the Isha Yoga Center, enjoyed a delicious meal at Covai Anganan, visited Snow Fantasy (an indoor snow-themed park inside Brookfields Mall) and were taken shopping in the mall. They departed from Coimbatore at 6:30 p.m. by flight.

"We were told about the trip a month ago and we were waiting for the day - January 24th. We kept looking at the calendar everyday with excitement," one of the kids, Gayathri said.

"The flight trip was thrilling and the visit to Isha was exciting. We laughed and danced in the bus while en route to Isha. The food that was provided to us later at Covai Anganan was excellent, and the time we spent at the mall was full of joy. We would never forget the love that was showered on us and the whole experience, throughout our life," she added.

Earlier, Ladies Circle’s representative asked the kids to consider this a stepping stone. “We want you to reach higher. If you keep learning well and excel in studies and career, you can absolutely fly higher. Today is just a start,” she said.

Tr.Pankaj, Immediate Past Chairman, Round Table Area 7, Cr.Rani Mohan, Immediate Past Chairperson, Ladies Circle Area 7 and Ashwin Balasubramanian, Manager – Brookfields Banquet Halls also took part.
