Global IT services provider Capgemini is set to invest Rs.75 crore and create 1,621 IT/ Information Technology Enabled Services jobs at ELCOT SEZ, Vilankurichi, Coimbatore, according to The Hindu Business Line.

Capgemini currently has its office in Hanudev Infopark at Nava India in the city. In November 2024, it was confirmed by Tamil Nadu IT Minister Palanivel Thiagarajan that the France-based multinational IT Company leased around 1.4 lakh sq.ft space at the newly inaugurated ELCOT IT Park at Vilankurichi.

Reports mention that Capgemini’s move to invest Rs. 75 crore to create new jobs in Vilankurichi ELCOT is one of the 16 proposals approved by the Unit Approval Committee of MEPZ SEZ, chaired by its Development Commissioner, Alex Paul Menon IAS.
